We are not a catalogue with a warehouse behind it. It also means we will tell you when not to spend. The most common thing we talk people out of is buying more still than they need. A benchtop Air Still Pro makes excellent spirit, and plenty of distillers never outgrow one. Working out where you actually sit on that scale is a five minute conversation and it is worth having before you order rather than after.

Is it legal to distil at home in Australia?
Owning a still is legal in Australia. Producing distilled spirits for consumption is not, unless you hold the appropriate licence, and there is no personal use exemption. The stills we sell are sold on their capability: water distillation, essential oils, and spirit production where you hold that licence. Check your own position before you buy.
What is the best home distilling kit for a beginner?
For most people starting out, the Air Still Complete Distillery Kit. It is benchtop sized, air cooled and needs no water connection, so it runs the day it arrives. If you would rather buy once and grow into it, the Air Still Pro adds reflux mode for neutral spirit alongside pot mode for character. Do I need a water connection to run a still?
Not for the Air Still or the Air Still Pro. Both are air cooled, which is the whole point of the benchtop range, and they need nothing but a power point. The Turbo 500 uses a water cooled condenser, so it wants to live near a tap and is better suited to a laundry or shed than a kitchen bench.
What can I actually make with a home still?
Every still here produces clean spirit from a simple sugar wash. From there a Top Shelf essence turns that spirit into vodka, gin, bourbon, whisky, rum or a liqueur. Gin can also be made properly with botanicals in the vapour path using a botanical basket on the Turbo 500 or an infusion basket on the Air Still.
What else do I need besides the still?
Three things people usually buy in a second order and wish they had bought in the first: fermentation consumables such as Turbo yeast, Turbo Carbon and Turbo Clear for each wash, carbon filtration for the finished spirit, and an alcometer so you know what strength you actually made. The complete kits bundle most of this already.
How long will my order take to arrive?
Metro: usually a few business days. Regional: often a bit longer. You get tracking when it leaves the warehouse.
What is your returns policy?
If something isn't right, tell us. We'll sort returns or replacements under Australian Consumer Law and our written policy. No drama.
