What type of bottles are best for home brewing?
Amber glass. It blocks the light that makes beer taste off, holds carbonation pressure well and is ideal for ageing. PET bottles are fine if you drink the beer within a few weeks, but glass is the better choice for storing it longer.
Can I reuse beer bottles for homebrewing?
Yes, as long as they are good quality pry-off bottles. Avoid twist-off bottles, which are often thin and do not seal well with a crown cap. Check each bottle for chips or cracks, then clean and sanitise it before filling.
How do I sanitise my home brew bottles?
Clean each bottle with a bottle brush and brewing cleaner, rinse, then sanitise with a no-rinse sanitiser. A bottle rinser and draining tree make the job faster when you are doing a full batch.
What happens if I do not sanitise my bottles?
Bacteria left in the bottle can spoil the beer after it is capped. Skipping or rushing sanitising is the most common cause of infected batches, so sanitise every bottle, every time.
How long will my order take to arrive?
Metro: usually a few business days. Regional: often a bit longer. You get tracking when it leaves the warehouse.
What is your returns policy?
If something isn't right, tell us. We'll sort returns or replacements under Australian Consumer Law and our written policy. No drama.
