Gin Botanicals
Botanicals are the recipe of a gin. Juniper does the heavy lifting — it's what makes gin, gin — and everything after it is your call: coriander seed for warmth, angelica root to bind, citrus peel for lift, and native botanicals like lemon myrtle for a distinctly Australian pour.
Working with botanicals
Most recipes run 20–40g of total botanicals per 2.25L of neutral spirit, weighted 2:1 toward juniper. Steep before distilling for depth, or hang them in the vapour path (botanicals basket for T500/alembic, infusement basket for the Air Still Pro) for a brighter, cleaner profile. Start with a proven ratio, change one botanical per batch, and keep notes.
All botanicals are packed for spirit-making quantities — no bulk-buying a kilo of angelica you'll never finish.
