Common questions

Q:What’s the difference between this and the standard starter kit?

The main difference is the inclusion of a bottle capper, which allows you to seal your bottles without needing to purchase one separately.

Q:Is this kit suitable for beginners?

Yes, this kit is beginner-friendly and designed to guide you through your first brew step by step.

Q:How much beer does this kit make?

This kit produces approximately 20–23 litres, which is around 60 standard bottles depending on size.

Q:Do I need anything else to get started?

You will need bottles and cleaning supplies, but the kit includes the core equipment needed for brewing and bottling.

Q: How important is sanitation when brewing?

Sanitation is essential, but it doesn’t have to be stressful. Using a basic no rinse sanitiser is enough. The goal is clean, not sterile just keep your gear properly washed and sanitised.

Q: How long does it take to brew beer at home?

Most kits produce beer in 2–3 weeks. That includes about a week for fermentation and another 1–2 weeks for bottle conditioning, depending on the style.

Q: Can I brew different beer styles with the same kit?

Yes! Once you have the base gear, you can brew lagers, ales, stouts, IPAs, and more. Just change up the ingredients and yeast to explore different styles.

Q: How do I know if my beer is actually fermenting?

Even though your airlocks are not bubbling, almost certainly your brew is fermenting.

If there's a slight leak in the lid or the temperature is too cool then there may not be enough pressure for the airlock to bubble. This isn't a problem, just keep checking with the hydrometer to determine when it's finished. If the surface of the brew is foamy, it's fermenting.
