The Pacific Pale Ale is a bolder, fuller-flavoured take on one of Australia’s most loved beer styles — and this kit delivers it in spades. Built around a dual-hop combination of Galaxy and Ella, two of Australia’s most expressive hop varieties, it produces a vivid tropical fruit and spice character that makes Pacific Ales so unmistakably and joyously Australian. Passionfruit, peach and citrus up front, backed by a clean pale malt base and a smooth, balanced bitterness. It’s hazy, golden, fragrant, and endlessly drinkable — exactly what this style should be.
Why brewers love this kit
Galaxy and Ella together are a genuinely exciting hop combination. Galaxy brings its signature passionfruit and tropical citrus; Ella adds a floral, spicy lift with its own stone fruit depth. Together they produce a more complex and layered aroma than either variety achieves alone. The malt extract base is deliberately clean and pale so the hops can do the talking, and the late hop addition preserves those aromatic compounds right through to the pour. All ingredients are pre-measured and full step-by-step instructions are included in the box.

FAQ's
What’s the difference between a Pacific Ale and a standard Pale Ale?
A Pacific Ale is typically hazier, lighter in colour and more heavily oriented towards tropical and fruity hop aroma than a standard pale ale. The style is defined by the Australian-grown hops that make it possible ie varieties like Galaxy and Ella, which produce an intensity of tropical fruit character that you simply can’t replicate with European or American hops. The result is a softer, more aromatic, less bitter beer than a traditional pale ale.
What do Galaxy and Ella hops contribute?
Galaxy is one of Australia’s most celebrated hop varieties, grown in Tasmania, producing intense passionfruit, tropical citrus and peach character. Ella (formerly known as Stella) is an aromatic variety with a distinctive floral, spicy profile and stonefruit depth that beautifully complements Galaxy’s tropical punch. Together they produce the layered, fruit-forward aroma that makes this Pacific Pale so distinctive.
