What’s the difference between an XPA and a standard pale ale?

An XPA (Extra Pale Ale) is lighter in colour and body than a standard pale ale, with the hop character pushed right to the front. The emphasis is on aroma and citrus/tropical flavour rather than malt depth — cleaner, crisper, and more hop-expressive. The Juicy XPA sits at 4.6–4.8% ABV, making it very drinkable while still delivering real hop impact.

What is dry-hopping and how does it work in this kit?

Dry-hopping means adding hops directly to the fermenter after primary fermentation, rather than during the boil. Because there’s no heat, the delicate tropical and citrus aromatics from Eclipse are preserved completely and infuse directly into the beer. It’s what gives this XPA its intense, fresh-hop aroma right up to when you pour it.

How long does it take from brew day to drinking?

Around 2–3 weeks in total. Fermentation takes approximately 7–10 days at 18–23°C including the dry-hop period, followed by at least a week of bottle conditioning. Like all hop-forward beers, the Juicy XPA is best enjoyed fresh the citrus and mandarin aroma is at its most vivid in the first few weeks after bottling.
