The details

The Create+ Turbo 500 Pro Column and Condenser is the reflux half of a T500 system. The high reflux design re-condenses vapour repeatedly during the run, separating impurities and producing a cleaner, more neutral spirit than a basic column manages.

Hamish's verdict: if your goal is clean, neutral spirit, this is where a reflux system really comes into its own. The Pro Column gives you far better separation than a basic setup, and once it is dialled in, it is incredibly consistent.

A note on the law: in Australia you need a licence from the ATO to distil spirits, including at home. Stills of 5L or under may be used without a licence for water purification or essential oil extraction. In New Zealand a still of up to 25L may be used at home to produce spirit for personal consumption.
