The details
The Air Still Pro is a small-batch benchtop still that runs two ways. Reflux mode strips the wash back to clean neutral spirit at up to 90% ABV, the base for vodka or any essence. Pot still mode keeps the character in at up to 80%, and with the included botanical basket that means gin. Swapping modes is a matter of changing the distillation tip.
It cools itself with a built-in fan, so there is no plumbing and no water supply to organise, and the first 30ml of each run is collected automatically in a foreshots vial. Already own a standard Air Still? The Air Still Pro Head Unit upgrades it instead.
A note on the law: in Australia you need a licence from the ATO to distil spirits, including at home. The Air Still Pro also has uses that do not require a licence, such as distilling water and extracting botanical oils and hydrosols.
Who it's for
A benchtop still for someone who wants to make spirits without turning the kitchen into a workshop. It runs off a normal power point, needs no cooling water and no plumbing, and packs away in the pantry afterwards. Suits a first-time distiller who wants it to work the first time, and an experienced one who wants a second, faster still for small runs.
Works With
Runs as a complete unit. The Air Still Pro Boiler and power cable are included. If you already own a standard Still Spirits Air Still, the Air Still Pro Head Unit upgrades it instead.
