What it tastes like

Ten bottles of the Dark Spiced Rum essence, the spiced style that has taken over the rum shelf. Vanilla and chocolate first, cinnamon, clove and coffee behind, and made for cola or ginger beer. Ten bottles makes 22.5 litres, or thirty 750ml bottles of spirit.

How to make it

Each bottle: shake and add the 50ml to 2.25 litres of neutral spirit at 50% ABV, then mix well. Still Spirits specifies 50% for this flavouring rather than the usual 40%.

The spirit can be bought vodka or your own neutral spirit. A clean base matters more than the flavouring: an essence cannot hide a rough spirit.
