Still Spirits Cream Liqueur Base

Still Spirits Cream Liqueur Base is the 400g pack that gives a Top Shelf cream liqueur its body. It is the dairy-style equivalent of the A, B and C bases and it is what makes a chocolate cream or Irish cream flavouring come out thick and creamy rather than thin.

What it does

Still Spirits describes it as giving "the ideal finished thickness and sweetness to cream liqueurs". It is a beverage whitener, sugar and cream flavour blend, so the finished liqueur has the texture of a commercial cream liqueur without needing fresh cream, and it keeps longer for the same reason. Keep the finished bottle in the fridge.

Which flavourings use it

Any Top Shelf cream liqueur flavouring. In our range that is the Chocolate Cream Liqueur; the other Top Shelf cream flavourings in the Still Spirits range use it too. The Icon Shamrock Cream uses its own smaller Shamrock Cream Base, not this one.

How to use it

Add 250ml of warm water to a mixing jug, add the base slowly while whisking, add the amount of neutral spirit stated on the flavouring bottle, add the flavouring, and top up to 1.125 litres with water. For the Chocolate Cream the flavouring bottle says 220ml of hot water and 500ml of 40% spirit, so follow the bottle where it differs.
