Spirits Essences
Create classic spirit profiles with whiskey, bourbon, rum, gin, and vodka options from our spirit essences. Each bottle delivers a clear style, like vanilla and char for bourbon, bright juniper and citrus for gin, or rich molasses spice for rum. Start with a clean neutral base at the strength on the label, measure the essence, add it, and give the bottle time to settle.
Work small, taste, and adjust in measured steps. Mix two styles in tiny batches to build depth, or add a pinch of oak for extra structure. Bundles give you value across favourite styles, and single bottles help you chase a specific profile for a special pour
How do I use an essence bottle?
Measure the home brew spirit essences, add them to a clean neutral spirit at the suggested ABV, and shake gently. Rest the bottle 24 to 48 hours so the flavour rounds out. Taste and add small top-ups if you want more intensity. Store the bottle cool and out of direct light.
Can I combine different essences?
Yes. Start with tiny test mixes. Try two styles in measured amounts, taste after a short rest, and adjust in small steps. You can add light oak chips to boost body or warmth. Once you like the result, scale the same ratios to a full bottle.
How long should I rest the spirit after adding essence?
Give it at least one to two days. Many profiles improve over a week. Shake gently before serving if the bottle sat for a while. Keep caps tight, store bottles cool and dark, and pour a small sample before you commit to a larger serve.
