When to choose this over alternatives
Choose Vic Secret when you want clean pineapple and passionfruit with a piney lift. It is smoother and more tropical than its relative Topaz, and it slots neatly alongside Galaxy and Eclipse for a fully Australian hop bill. Where Galaxy pushes passionfruit and peach and Eclipse brings mandarin, Vic Secret adds pineapple and pine, so the three together build a rich tropical-citrus profile. It is clean enough to run single-hopped too.
Practical notes
Vic Secret rewards late use. Keep it for the whirlpool and dry hop where the pineapple and passionfruit really come through, and use only a small early charge for bittering since the alpha is high. For a hazy, 25 to 50g of dry hops is a good starting point. Grown here by HPA, it is usually very fresh in Australia. Store cold and sealed, push the air out, and use within 12 months of opening.

Monday to Friday, 9-4pm AEST.We normally get back to you within a day—often sooner.
What beer styles is Vic Secret best for?
Australian Hazy Pacific ales, hazy IPA, XPA and pale ale. It brings clean pineapple, passionfruit and pine to juicy, fruit-forward beers.
Can I use Vic Secret for bittering?
Both, but it shines as an aroma and flavour hop. The alpha is high (typically 14-17%), so a small early addition bitters efficiently. Save most of it for whirlpool and dry hopping.
What can I substitute for Vic Secret?
Its HPA stablemates Galaxy and Eclipse are natural partners and cover nearby tropical-citrus ground. Topaz is a higher-intensity relative.
How much Vic Secret should I dry hop with?
For a hazy or juicy pale ale, start around 25g to 50g per 20L and adjust to taste. A short contact time keeps the pineapple and passionfruit clean and bright.
