When to choose this over alternatives
Reach for Pride of Ringwood or Super Pride when you want the traditional clean bitterness of a classic Australian lager. They are workhorse bittering hops with a restrained woody, herbal character rather than loud fruit, so they let a lager stay crisp and true to style. Super Pride is simply the higher-alpha version, so you use less of it for the same bitterness. If you want completely neutral bitterness, Magnum is an option, but Pride of Ringwood brings that genuine Aussie heritage note.
Practical notes
These are bittering hops, so they are best as an early boil addition where the alpha does its work. Super Pride's higher alpha means a smaller weight reaches the same bitterness as Pride of Ringwood, which is handy for keeping vegetal matter down. There is little reason to use them late, as the aroma is mild. Grown in Australia, they are usually very fresh here. Store cold and sealed, and use within 12 months of opening.

What beer styles are Pride of Ringwood and Super Pride best for?
Australian lagers, draught ales, bitters and pale ales. They provide the clean, traditional bitterness behind classic Aussie beers.
What is the difference between Pride of Ringwood and Super Pride?
Super Pride is a higher-alpha version of Pride of Ringwood (typically 13-15% versus 9-11%), so you use less of it to reach the same bitterness. The character is very similar.
What can I substitute for Pride of Ringwood?
For neutral bitterness, a clean high-alpha hop like Magnum works. But for the genuine traditional Australian character, Pride of Ringwood and Super Pride are the originals.
Are these aroma or bittering hops?
Bittering. They are best as an early boil addition. The aroma is mild and woody, so there is little benefit to using them late or as a dry hop.
