When to choose this over alternatives

Reach for Pride of Ringwood or Super Pride when you want the traditional clean bitterness of a classic Australian lager. They are workhorse bittering hops with a restrained woody, herbal character rather than loud fruit, so they let a lager stay crisp and true to style. Super Pride is simply the higher-alpha version, so you use less of it for the same bitterness. If you want completely neutral bitterness, Magnum is an option, but Pride of Ringwood brings that genuine Aussie heritage note.

Practical notes

These are bittering hops, so they are best as an early boil addition where the alpha does its work. Super Pride's higher alpha means a smaller weight reaches the same bitterness as Pride of Ringwood, which is handy for keeping vegetal matter down. There is little reason to use them late, as the aroma is mild. Grown in Australia, they are usually very fresh here. Store cold and sealed, and use within 12 months of opening.
