Quick answers
Questions about this product, shipping and orders. See the FAQ page for more topics.
Monday to Friday, 9-4pm AEST.We normally get back to you within a day—often sooner.
What's the difference between Irish Stout and Porter?
Irish Stout uses roasted barley (unmalted) which gives a sharper, drier roast character and a darker colour than most porters. Porters typically use chocolate or black malt (malted) for a smoother, more rounded roast flavour.
Is Irish Stout difficult to brew?
No, stouts are actually one of the more forgiving all grain styles. The high-roast grain bill is very distinctive so minor process variations are masked. It also ferments well at standard ale temperatures (18-22°C).
What food pairs well with Irish Stout?
Irish Stout pairs exceptionally well with oysters (a classic combination), beef stews and pies, aged cheddar, and chocolate desserts. The roasted bitterness cuts through rich, fatty foods beautifully.
What is an all grain homebrew kit?
An all grain kit gives you everything needed to brew beer from whole malted grains, the same method used by commercial craft breweries. You control the mash, the boil, and the hopping, giving you full recipe flexibility and the freshest possible result.
