The details

Six 700ml clear glass spirit bottles with cork tops, Australian made. This is the finishing step for your gin, whisky, bourbon or rum: the bottle that makes what you produced look like what it is.

Your spirit earned better than a recycled bottle

You ran the still, you got the cut right, you flavoured and polished it. Pouring that into an old juice bottle undersells the work. Clear flint glass shows the true colour of your spirit, the cork pulls with that proper thunk when you pour for a mate, and six matching bottles turn a batch into a shelf.

They hold their own as gifts too. A bottle of your own gin with a cork top needs no wrapping.

Why these work

  • Australian made clear glass, so the colour of the spirit does the talking
  • Natural cork caps with black wooden toppers, reseal after every pour
  • 700ml, the standard Australian spirit bottle size, so your batch splits into proper commercial-size bottles
  • One pack bottles 4.2 litres of finished spirit
  • Sturdy 780g glass that stands up to refilling batch after batch

When they make sense

Bottling a finished batch from your Air Still, T500 or Alembic. Standardising your shelf so every batch lands in the same bottle. Gifting a spirit you are proud of. If you are still choosing between closures, cork suits spirits you will open and pour from; for very long unopened storage a tight cork and upright storage are what matter.

Hamish's verdict

Store them standing up, always. Wine lies down so the cork stays wet; spirits are the opposite, because high-strength alcohol sitting against cork slowly breaks it down and taints the seal. Upright, out of direct sun, these will keep your spirit exactly as you bottled it. And if a cork ever loosens after years of use, replace it rather than trusting it.

FAQ

Will a cork top seal spirits for long-term storage?
Yes, stored upright so the spirit is not resting against the cork. Cork handles spirits well as a closure; it only suffers when high-strength alcohol sits in contact with it for long periods, which is why upright storage is the rule for spirits.

Are the bottles reusable?
Yes. Rinse them out and refill batch after batch. Reuse the corks while they still fit snug, and swap in a fresh one if a cork compresses or loosens over time.

How many bottles do I need for a batch?
Each bottle holds 700ml, so a pack of six takes 4.2 litres of finished spirit. Work back from your batch size at drinking strength.

Why 700ml?
It is the standard spirit bottle size in Australia, the same as the bottles on a bottle shop shelf. Your batch ends up in familiar, pourable, giftable bottles rather than odd sizes.

Do they suit gin?
They suit any clear or coloured spirit. The tall gin-style shape and clear glass are exactly what small distilleries use for gin, and they show whisky, bourbon and rum colour just as well.
