The details
5 full batches, sorted. This pack is built for distillers who run a 6-8kg sugar wash and want a clean, reliable spirit every single time.
Inside you get:
- 5 x Still Spirits Classic 8 Turbo Yeast
- 5 x Still Spirits Turbo Carbon
- 5 x Still Spirits Turbo Clear
Enough for 5 x 25L washes. Add your sugar and go.
Classic 8 Turbo Yeast - the all-rounder
Classic 8 is the higher-yield all-rounder in the Still Spirits turbo range. Run it at 6kg for a fast, clean ferment or push it to 8kg when you want more spirit off a single wash. It performs well across most conditions, which is why it is such a popular workhorse.
- Works between 16C and 30C air temperature
- Ferments a 6kg wash in about 2 days at 30C, or up to 10 days at 16C on 8kg
- Choose your sugar load: 6kg for speed and a cleaner finish, 8kg for maximum spirit
- Handles peak-fermentation heat, so you avoid stuck ferments
What you add
Each batch takes 6kg of Turbo Sugar for a faster ferment, or 8kg for higher yield. Sugar is sold separately.
Turbo Carbon - cleans as it ferments
Added at the start of fermentation, Turbo Carbon uses an activated pore structure to pull out impurities that ordinary post-distillation filtering leaves behind. It lifts the performance of the yeast and sets up a cleaner wash from day one.
Turbo Clear - the step most beginners skip
This is where quality is won or lost. Turbo Clear drops into the finished wash and clears over 95% of yeast cells and solids within 24 hours.
Skip it, and those yeast cells rupture during the boil and dump off-flavours and odours straight into your spirit, along with the impurities your carbon worked to trap. Use it every wash and rack before you distil. Your finished spirit will thank you.
How to use it (start to still)
- Dissolve your sugar in the fermenter and top to 25L (6kg Turbo Sugar (faster) or 8kg (higher yield)).
- Stir in one sachet of Turbo Carbon, then pitch one sachet of Classic 8 yeast.
- Ferment at 16C to 30C. Expect about 2 days at 30C on a 6kg wash, up to 10 days at 16C on an 8kg wash.
- When fermentation finishes, stir in Turbo Clear and leave 24 hours.
- Rack the clear wash off the sediment, then distil.
Yield you can count on
Still Spirits rated output, run through a Turbo 500:
- 6kg Turbo Sugar - approx. 3.7L @ 93% ABV per batch
- 8kg Turbo Sugar - approx. 4.5L @ 93% ABV per batch
Across the full pack, that is 5 batches of consistent, high-quality neutral spirit ready for your essences and flavours.
Storage and shelf life
Store cool and dry. Each sachet carries a minimum of 6 months from purchase, and keeps for around a year past the printed date if you refrigerate it. Buying a multipack and storing it cold is the easy way to always have a batch ready to go.

Turbo yeast vs regular yeast - what is the difference?
Turbo yeasts are built for distilling. They tolerate much higher alcohol, come with their own nutrients, ferment faster and across a wider temperature range, and produce fewer by-products than bread or wine yeast. That is what makes a cleaner wash for the still.
Should I run 6kg or 8kg of sugar?
Run 6kg of Turbo Sugar for a faster, cleaner ferment finishing around 3.7L at 93% ABV. Run 8kg when you want maximum spirit off one wash, around 4.5L at 93% ABV, with a little more to clean up afterwards.
How much yeast per wash?
One sachet of Classic 8 per 25L wash. If your pack includes Carbon and Clear, use one sachet of each per wash too.
How long before it is ready?
You will usually see activity within 24 hours. A 6kg wash ferments out in about 2 days at 30C; an 8kg wash can take up to 10 days at 16C.
Classic 8 or Classic 6 - which one?
Classic 8 ferments up to an 8kg wash for more spirit per batch, ideal when you want yield. Classic 6 ferments a 6kg wash and finishes a touch cleaner. Want maximum spirit, choose Classic 8; chasing the cleanest neutral, choose Classic 6.
Do I still need to carbon filter after distilling?
Turbo Carbon cleans the wash and Turbo Clear removes the yeast before the boil, which gets you a long way. A post-distillation polish (Filter Pro or EZ Filter) is still the finishing step for the smoothest result.
