You need to use your hydrometer to measure the specific gravity of your beer while you are making it. Using two Specific Gravity readings - calculate the alcohol.
After entering your two readings you click the submit button and the percentage of alcohol will appear.
With this on-line calculator you can estimate the alcohol %age, and the original and the final gravity of your beer.
All you have to do is enter the weights of your recipe ingredients. If you are wanting to make a beer of a specific strength or final SG, you can also alter the ingredient weights in the calculator to work out the combination that will produce the beer you want.
