Ten Still Spirits EZ Filter Carbon Cartridges, the single-use compressed carbon cartridges for the EZ Filter System. One per batch, so the pack covers ten batches from a 25 litre still.
What it does
The EZ Filter is a container filter that runs diluted spirit through a compressed carbon cartridge to strip the last of the off flavours and aromas. Still Spirits rates one cartridge at "8 L of 50% ABV spirit" or "300 L of water", which is one batch from a 25 litre still. The cartridge is single use: once it has taken a batch, replace it.
How to use it
Dilute the spirit to 50% ABV, fit a fresh cartridge with a filter washer either side, fill the top container and let it run through by gravity. Replace the cartridge every batch. Ten at a time is the right quantity for a regular Turbo 500 run, and a pack of washers covers five of those changes.
