Features of the Still Spirits Boiler 25L 

The latest Still Spirits boiler compatible with the Turbo 500 system and the Still Spirits Alembic Dome Pot Still.  It contains a dual element feature providing the opportunity to control the power heat and boil speed. It provides you the option and advantage to distil using less power and sped when distilling botanicals with an Alembic dome Pot Condenser

It is made of quality 304 grade stainless steel and features side locking clamps to secure the lid to the boiler. The lid features heat resistant silicone O-ring and a 44mm opening which is compatible to the T500 and Alembic Dome condenser.

The Pot Still Alembic Condenser

This condenser is what differentiates this still from the T500. It is what retains the flavour rather than stripping it out by refluxing. This comes with a thermometer, tubing and tap adaptor set.

Why the Alembic Still?

There are two ways to distil your wash. The traditional small batch distiller uses the Turbo 500 Still to distil alcohol to create a pure clean spirit with no taste or flavours at all. The second way is to use the Alembic Still to distil alcohol that contains flavours where the home distiller wants to collect and retain the character of the original alcohol.

Use wine to make brandy or create malt mash recipes to make whiskey and bourbon and fermented molasses for rum.

How to make Gin with the Alembic Still & Botanical Basket

Making gin with the Gin Botanical Basket is a simple to stage process. Firstly, you need to distil, dilute back to 40% ABV and filter as normal using the Turbo 500 System.  This is called the stripping run. (note if you do not have a T500 Still this process can be achived withe the Alembic Still)

Next, swap the Turbo 500 column and lid with the Alembic Dome & Condenser and attach the Still Spirits Botanical Basket filled with gin botanicals to the underside of the Dome. Run your spirit through again by redistilling the diluted filtered spirit from the first run.
